The biggest event in Power Rangers history – the Shattered Grid in the BOOM! Studios comic books – is getting a live show at this year’s Power Morphicon! Kyle Higgins, writer of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, has assembled an all-star cast of Power Rangers alumni to take part in a live-reading of key comic book scenes from the entirety of the Shattered Grid story! The panel includes:

– Barbara Goodson (voicing Rita Repulsa)

Hasbro recently held it’s latest Investor’s Report and of course a big focus going forward will be their recently acquired Power Rangers brand. As stated by CEO Brian Goldner:

Hasbro’s licensing plans for Power Rangers will resemble the playbook used for Transformers and My Little Pony, featuring a “very robust” line of products “coming from a number of different partners,”

Of specific note to the Power Rangers brand though, is this line in the report:

Power Rangers’ will generate an operating profit similar to Hasbro’s other franchise brands and has a “significant opportunity for growth given where the brand had been most recently,” Goldner said. Hasbro will work with a film studio to develop a new Power Rangers movie as a follow-up to the 2017 release.

Now, this certainly seems to be worded to imply that an actual sequel to the 2017 film is in the works. While that certainly could be the case as a kind “soft reboot” Brian Goldner’s statement is just vague enough to imply it could be a film that is a follow up in franchise terms rather than a narrative one. What are your thoughts on this matter? Could we actually be seeing a direct sequel with the same designs and cast? What would that mean for the distribution rights held by Lionsgate and other parties from the last film? As we get closer and closer to the 2019 premiere of Power Rangers Beast Morphers, our first hint of merchandise for the show has also been revealed. Thanks to a listing that’s gone up on Calendars.com we have our first look at officially licensed artwork for the Beast Morphers 2019 Calendar!

Though the images are a bit small, they give us our first real look at the series is being marketed. The biggest deal about this calendar though is that it confirms the names of the three Beast Bots! These Bots are of course the Power Rangers equivalents of the Buddyroids from Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters, the series Beast Morphers is adapted from:

  • The Red Ranger’s partner is Cruise the jaguar (Cheeda Nick in Go-Busters)
  • The Blue Ranger’s partner is Smash the gorilla (Gorisaki Banana in Go-Busters)
  • The Yellow Ranger’s partner is Jax the Rabbit (Usada Lettuce in Go-Busters)

It’s about to get wild!

If you’re among those that miss the old days of yearly Power Ranger teams, the Power Rangers Dino Mega Charge fan film might be able to satisfy that itch.

What makes Power Rangers Dino Mega Charge notable is that it stars two Power Rangers alumni:  Ciara Hanna(@ciarahanna20) of Power Rangers Megaforce and Brennan Mejia(@BrennanMejia) of Power Rangers Dino Charge reprises their roles as Tyler and Gia respectively in addition to @StevenZurita and @DarrelJDelfin serving as executive producers.

Dispatched to Earth’s moon on a mission to free Rita Repulsa by the mighty Dark Spector, was the original Psycho Ranger. When the NASA moon landing inadvertently woke this slumbering villain in 1969, Alpha 5 & Zordon had no choice but to assemble a team, the original Power Rangers!  Inexperienced, isolated, caught off guard, the Power Rangers would have to contend with, Psycho Green! 

Released as an SDCC 2018 Exclusive, the Legacy Psycho Green Ranger is (simultaneously with Psycho Silver) the first release of this mold in North America. Though the Psycho Red & Blue Rangers have turned up internationally, Green & Silver mark the domestic debut for this new mold. If you have experience with the Legacy 6.5″ line at all, then you know exactly what you’re in for here. Throw in the premium-style con packaging and Psycho Green’s signature Psycho Dagger, and you get a solid release and introduction of what to expect from his mold mates. I’ve done my best to recreate some panels from Green’s debut issue so I hope that comes across. Enjoy!

Renegade Game Studios has announced their first official Power Rangers project since obtaining the license!

Power Rangers: Heroes Of The Grid will be a 2-5 player tabletop board game where players can work together to save Angel Grove from Rita Repulsa and her army of monsters.

Artwork for this game has been provided by Dan Mora, already famous for his work on the BOOM! Studios Power Rangers comic books.

And the first EXPANSION for Heroes Of The Grid has already been announced: The Shattered Grid Expansion will feature locations & characters from BOOM!’s comic series run- PLUS characters from the Power Rangers HyperForce RPG!

The KickStarter for Heroes Of The Grid will be opened on August 14. Fans of tabletop gaming will get to try out Heroes Of The Grid in-person at Power Morphicon, August 17-19!

After months of speculation and rumors, the official televised celebration for the 25th Anniversary of Power Rangers has finally been announced!

In a special PRIME TIME episode airing Tuesday, August 28 2018 at 8PM EST a group of past Rangers will unite with the Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel team against a powerful new foe.

The confirmed veteran Rangers returning for this special event include:

Released just last week at San Diego Comic Con, the GX-76B Soul of Chogokin Black Megazord will no longer be exclusive to SDCC. According to the latest issue of Figure Oh, we have confirmed the release of this set in Japan.

Release date has not been announced at this time, but the GX-76B Soul of Chogokin Black Daizyujin will officially be available as a Tamashii Web Exclusive. Retail price is 32,400 yen. This release will likely feature some slightly altered packaging though we don’t know what it looks like at this time.

We have our first look at the upcoming Super Mini-Pla Shogun Megazord on display at Tamashii Nations at SDCC 2018. There is no release date currently for this item but fans can be rest assured that this item will be coming to the United States for release later this year or early next year.

Displayed with the Super Mini-Pla Shogun Megazord are the Super Mini-Pla Megazord, Super Mini-Pla Dragonzord, Super Mini-Pla Titanus, and the combined Super Mini-Pla Ultrazord. The latter are all currently available at your favorite hobby retailers online and in stores.
