S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Shin Gallery

Posted on June 1, 2014 at 9:23 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider

It’s time for TokuNation to take a dark turn down memory lane, all the way back to 1992. That was the year the film Shin Kamen Rider: Prologue was released. This film was the very definition of a grim gritty reboot for the beloved Kamen Rider franchise. As “Prologue” implies, this film was originally meant to set up a new rider TV series. Despite the films incredible practical & special effects, it’s dark re-imagining of the rider concept put off too many old school fans while simultaneously frightening new young fans of the time.

Until now Shin has been mostly relegated to making special appearances in Kamen Rider team-up films such as All-Riders VS Dai Shocker, Let’s Go Kamen Riders, or the Heisei VS Showa Taisen. But now Bandai & Tamashii Nations has shown the most monstrous of riders some serious love. Soon to be released is a Super Imaginative Chogokin figure of Shin. But that’s not all, recently released via the Tamashii Web Shop is S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Shin! And he’s the subject of today’s gallery as well!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Shin is the best representation of this rider’s grotesque form that’s ever been released. Though he’s lite in the accessories department, frankly Shin shouldn’t have any. He has no bike in his rider form, and unlike more modern riders Shin carries no weapons, and has never been shown to use any special powered up attacks. Instead relying on brute strength to fight other Cyborg Soldiers like himself. Click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to see the full gallery of this fantastic figure!

Power Rangers Legendary 5 Inch RPM Red Ranger Gallery

Posted on June 1, 2014 at 2:31 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

The wave 4 assortment of the Power Rangers Super Megaforce 5 inch action figures has been released (online at least) and it’s one of our first chances to pick up some of the Legendary Red Rangers from past seasons. With special thanks to our friend Fury Diamond of RangerCrew.com we are able to bring you some great galleries of all the figures in this case assortment. First up? The Red Ranger from the fan-favorite series Power Rangers RPM!

For someone who is personally a huge fan of the S.H. Figuarts line of figures (if you don’t know what those are, check out our galleries section and browse through numerous entries) I can say I was pleasantly surprised at how simple, yet fun and detailed, this figure actually is. While there’s some minor issues that will always bug me (the way the figure is molded where the back is curved while standing straight up causing posing issues), I actually cannot recommend this figure enough. While the weapons aren’t necessarily painted (the Street Saber has a silver painted blade, but the Nitro Blaster is simply red plastic) the detail in them is pretty slick for a 5 inch action figure.

The Legendary RPM Red Ranger comes with his Nitro Blaster and his Street Saber accessories, features a decent amount of posability and articulation, and isn’t going to cost you upwards of $40 like S.H. Figuarts do. If you’re a fan of either Power Rangers RPM or the Super Sentai version Go-Onger, this figure is, in my honest opinion, a must purchase (until a higher grade collectible figure is released which there are no plans for right now).

Please click here to see 30+ pictures of the RPM Red Ranger! Stay tuned throughout the next couple weeks as we continue to release galleries of all the figures from this case assortment. Check your local stores and favorite online retailers to see if and when these figures come in stock! GET IN GEAR!

S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Gold Gallery

Posted on May 30, 2014 at 3:47 am by Den-O under Super Sentai

The thunderous brave, Kyoryu Gold, has arrived!

S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Gold was recently released as a Tamashii Web Exclusive, and currently he’s the final Kyoryuger to be released in this line. We haven’t heard anything yet about the rest of the team but who knows. Oddly enough Kyoryu Gold is also not only the 6th Kyoryuger, but coincidentally he’s the sixth 6th ranger Figuart to be released, joining the ranks of Dragon Ranger, Gosei Knight, Shinken Gold, Kiba Ranger, & Gokai Silver.

Kyoryu Gold of course includes his trademark Zandar Thunder & Gaburi Changer as well as the final piece you’ll need to complete your S.H. Figuarts Kentro Spiker! Though the previous Kyoryuger releases are by no means bad, Kyoryu Gold is easily the best of the 6 released thus far. He’s an absolutely solid figure with crisp paint apps and so far top notch quality control. To see our full 40 image gallery of S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Gold, simply click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. And how about you check out our previous Kyoryuger S.H. Figuarts galleris as well!

ToQger DX Go-Busters Ressha Gallery

Posted on May 21, 2014 at 2:31 am by Den-O under Super Sentai

Busters, Ready, Go!

It’s time once again to use your imaginations and view our latest gallery from Ressha Sentai ToQger! Today we’re having a look at the first EX/Legend Sentai Ressah released in the toyline, DX Go-Busters Ressha!

Go-Busters Ressha of course borrows it’s likeness from the Go-Busters Ace of Tokuemei Sentai Go-Busters. It’s Ressha form is styled after the Ace’s cheetah mode whereas it’s head when combined with ToQ Oh is clearly an approximation of the Go-Buster Ace’s robot mode. When combined with ToQ Oh, ToQ Oh Go-Buster Ace is formed. Of course since this figure features all the same connectors as the rest of the line you can combine it in as many different ways as you choose. This combination may or may not be in a film or TV episode. Currently it’s actual physical appearance outside of toy form is unconfirmed.

Click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to be taken to the full 40 image gallery of DX Go-Busters Ressha.

TokuNation.com Reviews Godzilla Awakening

Posted on May 17, 2014 at 3:20 am by Den-O under Godzilla

The original big bad kaiju has just returned to theaters after a 10 year hiatus. Legendary’s Godzilla is on screens world wide and he’s absolutely destroying them. If you haven’t seen the film yet, we HIGHLY recommend that you do. And to celebrate the film’s release TokuNation.com is proud to present this companion piece to it. A full summary & review of the Godzilla Awakening Graphic Novel prequel!

Godzilla Awakening follows the exploits of the elder Dr. Serizawa (Ichiro’s father) from 1945-1954 as a member of the elite Monarch Unit. A group tasked with finding and exterminating the MUTO creatures. Though what the good doctor would theorize, and this unit would later discover, would be something far greater. A living legend, a monstrous myth, the king of all monsters, Godzilla! This book set out to expand the historical universe of the 2014 Godzilla film and it has succeeded wonderfully. If you want more insight into just what drives Ken Watanabe’s character, Dr. Ichiro Serazawa in the film, then this story about his father, is a must read.

By clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” you’ll be taken directly to a lengthy and spoiler heavy review and summary of Godzilla Awakening. Again, this book contains MASSIVE spoilers for the film as does our review. Read on at your own risk.

ToQger DX Diesel Ressha/Diesel Oh/Cho ToQ Oh Gallery & Review

Posted on May 15, 2014 at 6:36 pm by Den-O under Super Sentai

All aboard!

Tokunation has pulled back into the station with Ressha Sentai ToQger. And we’re back with a new gallery of DX Diesel Ressha!

Diesel Ressha, or as Right/ToQ 1 would call him “Grandpa”, is pretty unique in this line. Instead of being the typical “2-car” Ressha like the previous ones Diesel comes in 5 pieces. So this guy is crazy big when compared to the other Resshas. His addition to the line allows you to take the already released Tank & Car Carrier Resshas and create Diesel Oh! This blocky awesome robo is a welcome shelf mate to go with your  ToQ Oh. And if you’d prefer to display them combined, you can! As Cho ToQ Oh!

Click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to be taken to the Full 40 image gallery of this figure. And also be sure to check out the one and only Baltmatrix’s review of this figure below!

SH Figuarts Kamen Rider G3-X Sponsored Gallery

Posted on May 14, 2014 at 7:34 pm by Chris under Kamen Rider

Deep from the depths of 2010 we bring you a special sponsored gallery courtesy of EntertainmentEarth.com. For a great selection of figures and collectibles from all different genres, including a selection of case pricing, check out EntertainmentEarth.com for your action figure and collectible needs!

Originally released four years ago in 2010, Kamen Rider G3-X (from the era of Kamen Rider Agito) manages something that a lot of the older S.H. Figuarts do not – it stands the test of time! Featuring the old waist and diecast metal feet, these older features actually work quite well for this figure which many refer to as the RoboCop Terminator. The Cerebrus Gun comes included with Kamen Rider G3-X, as well as the Unicorn, Scorpion, and Guard Acceler accessories.

For a more in-depth look at this figure including 40 total images as well as a small review, click the “Discuss on TokuNation forums” link and share your thoughts! Thanks again to EntertainmentEarth.com for sponsoring this gallery!

Legacy Dragonzord Released in Canada – In Hand Images

Posted on May 10, 2014 at 10:06 am by Chris under Power Rangers

To all our friends up north – head to Toys’R’Us! The Legacy Dragonzord was spotted and purchased at Toys’R’Us store in Vancouver by ayane from the RangerBoard forums.

ayane also managed to take a ton of pictures of the Legacy Dragonzord. We’ve mirrored all 20 images here for your viewing pleasure. The original images were shared on RangerBoard. NOTE! The head-fin on the Legacy Dragonzord appears bent. This is apparently due to packaging – the plastic wrapped around the fin is too tight. There are many fixes for this and if it turns out to be a mass issue, we’ll share some tips and tricks on how to get it fixed.

Happy hunting!
