Toku Toy Box: Power Rangers Lightning Collection Zeo Gold Ranger Gallery

Posted on December 1, 2020 at 2:52 pm by Den-O under Contests and Giveaways, Network News and Updates, Power Rangers, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“It’s time for a Gold Rush!”

Courage, Wisdom, & Heart. Travelling to Earth in the mighty Pyramidas, Trey of Triforia carried with him the awesome powers of the Zeo Gold Ranger! Aiding the Power Rangers whenever a new threat appeared, the Gold Ranger rushed onto the battlefield. And although Trey had to pass his powers to Jason Lee Scott for a time, this golden hero is tough to defeat. After helping the rangers to defeat the Machine Empire once and for all, Trey remained an ally of Earth for years to come in the battles against both the Alliance of Evil and the Armada. After all, once a ranger, always a ranger.

Quick as lightning, strong as steel, this galler is for real! We kick off Toku Toy Box season this year with our gallery of the Power Rangers Lightning Collection Zeo Gold Ranger! This release marks the figure’s debut in the retail line after previously being exclusive to the SDCC 2019 2-pack with the Mighty Morphin Red Ranger. And this release of the mold is also as the original user of the powers, Trey of Triforia. So of course this retail release includes a new unmasked head for Trey, but it also includes a new version of the Golden Power Staff as well as a recolor of the energy effect included with the last release. But are there more differences between these two Gold Rangers? You’ll have to read the full review to find out!

You can check out the full gallery & review of the Power Rangers Lightning Collection Zeo Gold Ranger in the thread linked below by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. And remember, commenting in this gallery thread will qualify you for one (1) additional entry in our annual Toku Toy Box giveaway! Offical rules HERE.

Once again it’s the time of year that the community and our staff love most – time for all of us to celebrate our respective holidays & traditions with the friends and loved ones we hold dear. Though this year things will look quite different on that front, due to the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic. One thing that we can guarantee isn’t changing though, is our annual giveaway Toku Toy Box! Every year at this time TokuNation.com celebrates the wider tokusatsu community as well as itself. On January 4th 2021, we officially mark 9 years since TokuNation first went public as part of the network of  TFW2005.COM, ToyArk.com, HissTank.com and PWRRNGR.com, through the hard work of both network owner Tony_Bacala and our founder and original Editor-In-Chief, TokuChris.

First Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger Toy Trademarks Revealed- ZenkaiOh, GearTlinger & Sentai Gear!

Posted on November 30, 2020 at 6:05 pm by Paladin under Super Sentai

Toei has officially registered some merchandise trademarks for the 45th Super Sentai series, Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger!

At time of writing, we do not have images of the toys in question but these names may provide some insight into the upcoming series.

*First up is the apparent Mecha for the Zenkaiger, Zenkai-Oh! Based on initial rumors, this will be a five-piece combination.

*Next is an item called the GearTlinger– supposedly a fusion of the characters for Gear and Gatling. This appears to be the Zenkaigers’ signature weapon.

*Finally, there is a listing for Sentai Gear! This seems to be the series’ collectible gimmick; based on previous years it seems very likely Toei will use this line to celebrate the past Super Sentai in this anniversary line.

Stay tuned to TokuNation for further details on this new entry in Super Sentai history!

Radiant Black – A New Toku-Inspired Comic by Kyle Higgins

Posted on November 20, 2020 at 1:00 pm by Chris under Radiant Black

It feels like ages ago when the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic book was a national top-seller thanks to the immensely popular Shattered Grid storyline.  Fans were treated to a new villain – an evil Tommy going by the name Lord Drakkon – and a world shattered by his messing with the morphin grid.  At the time we went out on a limb and called the work Kyle Higgins did as some of the best stories in the history of the Power Rangers brand.

The work that Kyle Higgins did left an impression on the Power Rangers brand forever.  Lord Drakkon is a staple character now and likely will be for years to come.  But it would appear that Power Rangers also left an impression on Kyle, as Thursday saw the announcement of his brand new comic Radiant Black via Image Publishing.

Follow @RadiantBlk on Twitter – Follow @RadiantBlk on Instagram – Visit Radiant.Black

Not much is known about Radiant Black as of yet – we know that the power that Nathan holds comes from a black hole and that the power doesn’t belong to him – it belongs to some cosmic beings who are going to want it back.  And we can’t wait to find out more!

Radiant Black is written by Kyle Higgins and features artwork by Marcelo Costa.  Lettering is done by Becca Carey and editing duties fall to Power Rangers fan at-large Michael Busuttil, known to fans for his work on the Ranger Danger Podcast.  Radiant Black Issue 01 releases February 10th 2021 at comic book stores everywhere.

Stay tuned next week as we take an in-depth look at Issue 01 and why this comic absolutely, positively must be on your pull-list.

Team Baron CSM Sengoku Driver Lockseed Set Details Revealed

Posted on November 19, 2020 at 9:39 pm by Chris under Kamen Rider

The CSM Sengoku Driver, officially announced just a few weeks ago, already has the details of the next Lockseed set available.  Coming soon in 2021 is the CSM Lockseed Team Baron set.  The set includes the following Lockseeds:

  • Banana
  • Mango
  • Marron
  • Marron Energy
  • Matsubokkuri Energy

It also comes with the following faceplates:

  • Baron
  • Black/Proto Baron
  • Blank (which is what Knuckle used)

No release details or price have been set as of yet and, interesting as well, is the lack of the CSM Genesis Driver.  We know it is coming – Bandai has quietly announced it in blog posts – we just haven’t seen it yet.

Stay tuned Kamen Rider Gaim fans.  Things are just starting to get expensive.

Tamashii Nations 2020 – Metal Hero Soul of Chogokins Revealed

Posted on November 6, 2020 at 10:01 am by Den-O under Conventions, Metal Heroes, Other Conventions

Following up on our reporting from Tamashii Nations 2020 on the display of previously revealed and newly unveiled Ultraman S.H. Figuarts, Bandai has also dropped a couple massive reveals. While these items are currently listed as “Display Only”, we have our very first looks at two new possible additions to the long running Soul of Chogokin line from two Metal Hero series!

First up is the one which began it all, hailing from 1982’s Space Sheriff Gavan is the Electronic Star Beast Dol Dragon and the Giran Saucer! While the prototypes on display do not currently give us a look at the combined Dol Giran mode, we can probably infer the transformation gimmick in such a comprehensive release as an SOC. As is, What we see on display is a magnificent set and gives us a great sense of  scale, hewing very close to the size of the original toys based on the Tamashii Stages they’re displayed on.

And the second surprise reveal is the massive (and transforming!) planetary battleship Daileon from 1985’s Megabeast Investigator Juspion! Continuing the short lived tradition of the transforming Metal hero robo, Daileon changes from battleship to massive mecha. though we have less of a sense of scale for this release, we can see it does appear to included a small scale Juspion figure, as well as a tiny to-scale version of Juspion’s Garvin Tank!

As mentioned neither of these releases has even been confirmed for release yet, so there are no pricing or full accessory breakdowns to be known at this time. These could very well join the long list of prototypes locked away in Bandai’s vault. But for now, we hope to see much more of these two exciting reveals. Keep it tuned to TokuNation for more updates from Tamashii Naitons 2020!
