S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Poppy Toki Meki Crisis Gamer Level X Gallery

Posted on August 21, 2019 at 10:12 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“I will make Emu smile again.”

Based on the memory of Kuroto Dan’s mother, the bugster Poppy was an indispensable and trustworthy ally to the Kamen Rider doctors of CR. But with her memories erased & programming rebooted, Poppy became an unwilling part of Kamen Rider Chronicle. Forced to fight Ride Players by Parad & Graphite, Poppy became a Kamen Rider! But with the help of Emu and the others, Poppy’s old memories broke through. Rejecting Chronicle, wishing only to play with her friends and help others, Poppy awakens to her true heroic spirit as Kamen Rider Poppy!

Kamen Rider Poppy was released way back in March, and we finally had the time to get down to a full review of her this week. Poppy made waves with her rider debut in show, so it’s appropriate that this ball of positive energy is a pretty great figure as well. Packed with personality and armed with the Bugvisor Zwei, Poppy can literally be your devil or your angel. Especially with the Zwei in Chainsaw Mode! While we wish an alternate head was included, it’s undeniable how stylish this figure looks, particularly as part of a wider Ex-Aid collection. Ex-Aid Level 2 & GenM Level 0 in particular will compliment her very well.

Check out our full 50 image gallery by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. Next time, we’re maxing out our levels with a gallery of the Maximum Mighty Gamer himself, Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Level 99!

Power Rangers Lightning Collection Beast Morphers Gold Ranger Gallery

Posted on August 16, 2019 at 10:31 am by Den-O under Power Rangers, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“The mantis DNA worked! I’m a ranger!”

As a child prodigy, it was a no brainer that Nate Silva would join Grid Battleforce. Discovering a way to access the Morphin Grid and harness it’s very essence as Morph-X energy, Nate would go on to create a new generation of Power Rangers! But with the emergence of the viral villain Evox and his deadly avatars & Tronic soldiers, the world would need more than 3 Power Rangers. Abducted by Blaze & Roxy, Nate hatched an escape plan with some Morph-X and Mantis DNA. Now Nate, as the Beast Morphers Gold Ranger with his partner Steel the Silver Ranger, protects the real world from the digital armies of Evox!

The Beast Morphers Gold Ranger is yet another winner in Hasbro’s ever expanding line of Lightning Collection figures. A design that Super Sentai fans have wished to see in figure form for years, the Gold Ranger should appeal to both Beast Morphers & Go-Busters fans alike. A solid entry to the line, the Gold Ranger makes full use of the articulation layout Hasbro has engineered while being armed up with his Striker Blaster & Striker Sword! And as always I love the added bonus of the civilian head with a likeness of Nate Silva actor Abraham Rodriguez!

Check out our full 80 image gallery of the Beast Morphers Gold Ranger and read our full review after the jump by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back in a couple days with a long overdue review from Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, as well as more Lightning Collection from Hasbro!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Geiz GenM Armor Gallery

Posted on August 15, 2019 at 12:55 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Armor Time! Level Up! GenM!

In a future that should never have been, Kuroto Dan has truly become a king. Chosen by the Time Jackers to rule in his own way, Kuroto Dan has become Another OOO! Luckily for our heroes Geiz has acquired the GenM Ridewatch, and travelling to 2016 will fight the Bugster God before his corrupted future can take place. Buying time until Sougo can obtain the power of OOO, Geiz will fight this counterfeit king and his Yummies as Kamen Rider Geiz GenM Armor!

Related Galleries: Kamen Rider Geiz & Kamen Rider Genm Level 2

Geiz GenM Armor is another solid entry for the Zi-O family of S.H. Figuarts.  While ostensibly a remold of the base Geiz figure, it’s actually just an extensive repaint of Zi-O Build Armor with a handful of new parts. In a striking black and purple colors scheme, with a Rider Gauge of it’s own, Proto Mighty Action X Gashat shoulders, and that signature Ex-Aid style hair, this armor evokes the menace of Kuroto Dan wonderfully. Though it may not come with any real accessories, if you own any other GenM figures, I’d say this figure can find a perfect home in your collection.

Check out our full review and 40 images of Kamen Rider Geiz GenM Armor after the jump by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back in a few days with another new Lightning Collection gallery from Hasbro!

SDCC Lightning Collection Dragon Shield Red Ranger & Zeo Gold Ranger Gallery

Posted on August 7, 2019 at 1:23 pm by Den-O under Conventions, Power Rangers, San Diego Comic Con, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Back to action!”

It’s so fitting that in the first full year with the brand under new ownership, and with the recent announcement of this particular actor’s return, that Hasbro’s first convention exclusive would be centered around the ranger who began it all. Austin St. John is fondly remembered by fans old and young as Jason Lee Scott, both the original Red Ranger as well as the Zeo Gold Ranger. And this exclusive Lightning Collection two-pack celebrates both ahead of the character’s upcoming return for Power Rangers Beast Morphers in 2020!

Both of these figures are new mold entries for Lightning Collection. While similar in design and articulation layout to previous figures in the line, each brings something new to the table. The Dragon Shield Red Ranger is a wonderful figure that is absolutely armed to the teeth with Blade Blasters, the Dragon Dagger, and even a complete (and functional!) Power Blaster! Toss in a civilian head for display and this is a near perfect figure for MMPR fans. The Zeo Gold Ranger is likewise the kind of do-over many collector’s have hoped for since Bandai America’s cheese colored attempt at the character last year.  With two versions of the Golden Power Staff, an energy effect to compliment them, and another unique civilian Jason head, you have all the display options you could possibly need with this one too!

This two-pack cements Hasbro’s Lightning Collection as absolutely the best collector oriented line the franchise has ever gotten. We’ve packed 120 images into this gallery and we had a ton of fun doing it. Check out the full gallery and read through our complete review by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. And don’t forget! If you haven’t been able to purchase this set yet, it will be going up for sale on Hasbro Pulse later this month. So be sure to keep an eye out for it.

SDCC Toei Spider-Man Hot Wheels Spider Machine GP-7 Gallery

Posted on July 30, 2019 at 12:44 pm by Den-O under General Tokusatsu News, San Diego Comic Con, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“I am the emissary of Hell!
And I shall fight this great evil for the fate of all spiders!”

400 years ago, Professor Monster came to invade Earth with his Iron Cross Army. Active once again in 1978, his legions would cross paths with the young motocross racer Takuya Yamashiro. With a fate greater than he knew, Takuya was both destined to lose his father to Iron Cross, and encounter the strange race of the Planet Spider. Now infused with the Spider Extract, and given command of the mighty Spider-Machine GP-7 and Marveller, Takuya has become the Spider-Man! This Emissary of Hell will fight to defend the Earth for as long as it takes to stop Professor Monster and his hordes!

The classic 1978 Toei produced Spider-Man series has become a cult classic in the US, particularly after the character’s involvement in Marvel Comics Spider-Verse event series  (which the above quote comes from). Mattel has been the first toy company to capitalize on the series US popularity with merchandise though, giving us the SDCC exclusive Hot Wheels Spider Machine GP-7! A welcome addition for any 1/64 Hot Wheels collector, and a wonderful one for any fan of Spider-Man, the Spider Machine is exactly what you’ve been looking for.

We’ve got a full 50 image gallery of the Spider Machine GP-7 after the jump as well as a full review. Just click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to see it all. Next time, we dive into another SDCC Exclusive from Hasbro’s Power Rangers Lightning Collection line!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Zi-O Build Armor Gallery

Posted on July 27, 2019 at 4:31 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

In the immortal words of Woz,
“Rejoice! He is heir to the power of all riders”.

Kamen Rider Zi-O is nearing it’s end and the impending start of the Reiwa Era of Kamen Rider is on the horizon. And as this series and the Heisei Era come to an end, Tamashii Nations has just released the first of Zi-O’s power ups in figure form. S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Zi-O Build Armor is the first stepping stone along Sougo Tokiwa’s path to the future where he rules. Will he be a benevolent overlord, or succumb to the evils of Oma Zi-O? Time will tell.

For now, we’re tackling this first in a line of Zi-O Armor Time upgrades in the same we always have, with a comprehensive gallery & review! Zi-O Build Armor set the standard for what was to come with many of the shows’ various power ups as well as many that never made it in. This figure likewise sets an incredibly solid & stable standard for how the Zi-O line should progress from here on. A stylish figure with tons of personality inherited from both of it’s parent designs, and armed with the Drill Crusher Crusher (yes!) it’s an excellent addition to the power set of this benevolent overlord.

Check out a full 50+ images of S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Zi-O Build Armor after the jump by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post.  If you’d like to take a look back at the designs that influence this figure you can check out our galleries of Kamen Rider Build Rabbit/Tank Form and Kamen Rider Zi-O!
