This past month we took some time getting back into the swing of things and after a lengthy hiatus and some technical difficulties we’re slowly but surely getting back to bringing you great content! Including your favorite toy galleries of recent releases and vintage favorites. For July 2016 we took a look at 4 very unique releases:

From Kamen Riders Kabuto, Ghost, & Drive, with a little hint of something off-beat, we wanted to bring you a warm up round of galleries to prep things for the coming months. We’ve attached one image from each of these galleries to this post, but follow all of the links above to be taken to each of these extensive photo shoots in their entirety. A few years ago, Kickback, Den-O, and Sentai Tamashii/Soulink decided to create a podcast centered around tokusatsu. It was originally called “Talkin Toku at the Nation“, and then shortened at some point for reasons that escape us to “Talkin Toku“. But – life happens, and Kickback and Den-O were blessed with the ability to start their own families, and the time just wasn’t there anymore to consistently release professional podcasts in a timely manner. The final episode was released in February, and all archives went dark in March of this year.

However – you can’t always keep a nerd quiet, and the urge to continue to talk about these things was too great. Thus, a new joint project between Kickback of TokuNation.com and Jmann of CollectionDX.com has resulted in the revival of Talkin Toku. Check out the announcement video below.

The planned launch episode will release the first week of September. Contributors to the show include Kickback, Den-O, Sentai Tamashii/Soulink of TokuNation.com, Jmann of CollectionDX.com, Trekkieb47 and HollywoodZ from the Ranger Command Power Hour podcast, Dan Pearce from Dan’s Toku Rants, The Ranger Talk, baltmatrix, Vangelus, Shukuen Shinobi, and ZeronXepher.

Summer Wonderfest has just taken place in Japan and among the many new figures, statues and replicas revealed at the event are coloured versions of the Plamax Gipsy Danger and Cherno Alpha model kits from Max Factory!

Uncoloured prototypes have been seen at previous Wonderfests, but this is the first time these Pacific Rim Jaegers have been seen in colour and with more concrete release info. These 1/350 scale model kits do not currently have a set price, however according to the information on their display cards both kits will be released in December!

You’ve seen them throughout the years at various Tamashii Nations events and wondered “when can I buy those?!” No it’s not the long lost prototypes of the SWAT Dekarangers or Rio & Mele. But the Blank figures we’ve all come to know. Used to showcase new body & articulation sculpts as well as Tamashii Effects we all wondered if these unique figures would ever be released. Now, they have. So today we’re taking an extensive look at S.H. Figuarts Body-Kun (Gray) DX Set!

Body-Kun is a wonderfully generic figure. The basis for any custom you desire, the subject of any photograph you can imagine, and the ultimate piece of reference for an artist. Body-Kun & the simultaneously released Body-Chan are perhaps the most uninhibited and fun figuarts I’ve ever handled. Loaded down with a plethora of accessories including a multitude of hands, weapons, and every day devices, this seemingly lifeless faceless figure manages to express more in body language alone than most other figuarts ever can.

The Jaegers shall rise again!

Universal Pictures has officially announced a release date for the long-awaited sequel to Pacific Rim! After intense production turbulence, Pacific Rim 2 is now on track to premiere on February 28, 2018!

Original director Guiliermo Del Toro will oversee production of this sequel, while Steven S. DeKnight (veteran of Marvel’s Daredevil series) will take over as director.

Bu Toys facebook page has updated with a selection of new official images for their upcoming Space Ironmen Kyodain figures! Three of these images have been posted so far showing off what the finalized figures will look like. Two of them feature Skyzel & Grounzel with their specialized weapon hands. 

Bu Toys own account has also responded to a collector and confirmed the rough price of these figures. Skyzel & Grounzel will retail for $1250 HKD each or about $160 USD. However Bu Toys has also confirmed that they dont currently have a US distributor for these figures either.

We’ll keep you up to date as production of these wonderful figures progress forward, and as possible US distribution is made clear.

After teasing them over a month ago, Bu Toys has just fully revealed their upcoming Space Ironmen Kyodain figures!

Based on the 1976 Shotaro Ishinimori live action series Space Ironmen Kyodain (Uchuu Tetsujin Kyodain) an updated version of these characters made an appearance in the Kamen Rider Fourze Movie: Space, Here We Come. Bu Toys however is giving the hardcore collector what they want with these roughly 7.8″ (200mm) scale figures of the original Skyzel & Grounzel as they appeared in the classic TV series.

If you’re an obscure tokusatsu fan (like me) this is definitely an exciting announcement. We’ll keep you informed as release info becomes available for these figures!

Good news if your a fan of Pacific Rim, it seems that the fourth coming sequel  isn’t dead as previously reported earlier this year

News broke out that John Boyega was just recently casted to play the lead role in this forthcoming sequel, the film is set to begin production fourth quarter 2016 according to deadline.com.

John Boyega is perhaps best known for his portrayal as the character Finn from Star Wars: The Force Awakens though much of his character’s role and backstory are currently unknown.
