Revealed only a few weeks ago to the excitement of Juuko B-Fighter & Big Bad Beetleborgs fans alike, these two figures are one step closer to reality! S.H. Figuarts Blue Beet & S.H. Figuarts Black Beet of Juuko B-Fighter are officially on display at the Tamashii Nations Akiba Showroom!

Blue Beet is confirmed for a January 2014 release as a Tamashii Web Exclusive, priced at 4860 yen. Black Beet however we’re still unsure of. He was merely teased in the magazine scans which confirmed/revealed Blue Beet. But now that an actual physical sample is on disaplay, at the Akiba Showroom no less, we should be getting concrete details on this figures release very very soon.

As for fans hoping for a North American release of these figure via Bluefin, definitely make your voices heard. Bluefin Tamashii is aware that there could be demand for these toys with collectors. Let them know it! Tell them you want the Blue Stinger Beetleborg, tell them you want Shadowborg/General Venjix! Get out there and make some noise on twitter @TamashiiNations and on Bluefin’s facebook page!

After some set backs and some lengthy delays due to a number of circumstances, we’re finally read to reveal the winners of our Fruit Henshin contest! If you remember way back when, the contest involved taking any fruit of your choice and incorporating it in to a henshin/morphin pose – your favorite or your own! We received some great entries – so much that it took longer to figure out the winners because it was hard for everyone to agree on a favorite! While we were at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, we were amazed at the amount of attention, and just how amazing, the Gundam displays were getting at the Bluefin Distribution booth. So while this is totally not tokusatsu, we know there’s a lot of fans of Gundam and Gunpla out there, so we took over 100 images of what they had on display, prettied up the images a bit, and now want to share them with you.

At long last, Mister Dangerous has finally arrived on stage!

The second Premium Bandai Arms Change exclusive figure is now on its way to collectors’ homes and Youtube reviewer wotakufigher has put up an in-depth look at the Armored Durian Rider, including a close-up look at the armor transformation and Bravo’s appearance with other Fruit Arms.

Definitely another fantastic addition to the Arms Change series!

While Kamen Rider Gaim draws closer to the final act, a new form for Armored Rider Ryugen has been revealed: Yomotsu Heguri Arms!

Putting this form into perspective, the name Yomotsu Heguri is quite possibly a reference to a Japanese myth involving the food of the dead, how this plays into the show is still unknown but could lead into some very interesting develoupments with everything else currently in play.

Do note that the credibility of these scans are still being put into question, this is still an unconfirmed rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt.

At the SDCC Legendary panel, Director Gareth Edwards announced that he will be back to direct Godzilla two, and then show the attendees at the panel a teaser featuring “historical” footage and a voiceover by JFK revealing that there are more threats out there as the names of creatures flashed on the screen, they were: Mothra, Rodan, and Ghidorah.

 

Gareth will be directing another film before tackling Godzilla 2.

Straight from the just concluded Shout Factory SDCC panel we have a huge official announcement from the company. A complete series release of Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, fully subbed, is happening!

That’s right folks, the show from which Mighty Morphin Power Rangers drew it’s source material will be released on a complete series DVD set with full subtitles! And chances are that with Shout Factory’s history of including incredible extras, this set will have some great surprises! When asked about the release itself Shout Factory’s Brian Ward confirmed that this was Saban Brands idea. So this came directly from them, as in Saban approached Shout Factory about putting this release together.

While at the panel we also asked about the black sheep of the Saban Tokusatsu family, Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog. This often forgotten but excellent series is a personal favorite of mine and I was curious as to whether it could ever see a release. Brian Ward put it this way, there are legal rights issues to releasing certain series such as Mystic Knights and he went on to specifically mention that Masked Rider falls into that same category. The rights for shows like this don’t necessarily sit in Saban Brands hands, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they won’t happen.
